This location is going to be great. The Forest Reserve, also known as the Keahua Forestry Arboretum, is one of the lushest places on the island. We took a trip there today to get these pictures. You can bet we'll be there next week with our cameras to get what we can for you while they are shooting, even if we have to dress as a pig.

So here it is, the old gate. These cement posts look about 20 feet high. I'm waving at you and I'm six feet, so they must be twenty. They are about 8 inches in diameter with steel re-inforcement. The road on the right is what we had to take to get there. Looking thru the gates, you are seeing Mt. Waialeale, the wettest spot on Earth with an average rainfall of over 450 inches. It is almost always clouded over like it was today. Watch the film and when the gates open, there it is. Thank you Steven for leaving the pillars here!!

Incredible greens, grasses and streams.

Water, water everywhere. Most of the time it runs over the road, at times reaching 8 to 10 feet in height.

Movie Tour 4x4 van going over another bridge thru the water. Ironically, it was very near this area that parts of JP1 were filmed. Three miles up the above road you'll run right into the spot where they built the JP gate. The road is now horrible, but in the next couple of days, we will try to make it there and take photos of what is left of the gate. This area will also be on our new "Extreme" 4x4 Movie Tour.
