Coastal Tour
This is the tour that built our company, the nation's first movie location tour, and still the only Movie Tour® in Hawaii! Others have tried and failed while we have continued to build our company the last 13 years. We have won the Ho'oulu Award six times, including in 2008.

We are licensed by every major studio in the U.S. to show you various film clips while at the location they were filmed in our Theater On Wheels®. We are very proud of the fact we are the only tour company in the State of Hawaii allowed to take you on the grounds of the closed and fenced off Coco Palms Resort. The most historic resort in the South Pacific, the Coco Palms has been closed since Hurricane Iniki in 1992. Films made on the grounds of this legendary place include Blue Hawaii with Elvis, Fantasy Island, Pagan Love Song with Esther Williams, Miss Sadie Thompson with Rita Hayworth, Voodoo Island with Boris Karloff, Bird of Paradise with Debra Paget, South Pacific with Mitzi Gaynor and many more. Many celebrities from around the world stayed at the Coco Palms. Honored guests were asked to plant a coconut tree and plaques were put in at the base of these trees. People who planted trees on the grounds included the Shah of Iran, Prince Faisal (now King Faisal) of Saudi Arabia, the Von Trapp family of Sound of Music fame, Liberace, Gene Autry, Bing Crosby, James Michener (author South Pacific), Howard Kock (film producer), Joshua Logan (director, South Pacific-play and film), Arthur Godfrey, Henry J. Kaiser, Lynda Bird Johnson and many others.
The Coco Palms was Elvis's home away from home. You will see the bungalow where he stayed, at times with Priscilla and Lisa Marie. You will also see many locations on the property made famous in Blue Hawaii. Elvis fans from around the world come to see this historic place in Elvis's history.
Please be careful and don't be fooled by other tour company descriptions which list the Coco Palms as a stop. They are misleading you. All they can do is drive by and point it out. We are the ONLY company that can take you inside! You will see the original wedding canoe used in both Blue Hawaii and Fantasy Island! You will walk in the footsteps of some of Hollywood's most legendary actors.
Other stops on our tour include Hanamaulu Bay, home of John Wayne's Donovan's Reef, Voodoo Island and Harrison Ford's Six Days, Seven Nights. Wiggle your toes in the sand. Frequently, we see dolphins playing in the bay.
We are flattered by the fact other tour companies slow down and show our office location, because we sit on one of the most famous locations from Jurassic Park! Thanks guys. Imitation is the best form of flattery!
We are going to take you to the hidden location of the original Gilligan's Island episode. Prior to his passing, Bob Denver, who played Gilligan, was a friend of our company and gave us the inside scoop on his filming here. He even gave us one of his famous Gilligan hats! This is a beach you just might want to go back and visit on your own. It's stunning. Other films were also shot on this beach.
At the Aliomanu area, you will see the air strip from Six Days, Seven Nights, the opening scene from Raiders of The Lost Ark and others.
Lunch is included in the price of our tour and we will have it on the beach at a location used in both South Pacific and Honeymoon In Vegas. This is another chance for you to wiggle your toes in the sand as you stare at the largest reef in Hawaii. We will also serve you assorted beverages throughout the day.
Next we head to the incredible Hanalei Valley. On the way, you will see the private airport used in Dragonfly with Kevin Costner. Then, as we head down into the valley, the breathtaking taro fields will unfold in front of you, exactly as seen in Uncommon Valor. As we look at Puff (supposedly), we will sing along with Peter, Paul and Mary! Karaoke on a bus!!!!! Finally we reach the historic Hanalei Pier, location for over a dozen films, including South Pacific. As we leave the pier and the Hanalei Valley behind, more Karaoke as we sing a tune from South Pacific. Milli Vanilli imitations allowed!

COMING SOON----TROPIC THUNDER!!---This film, starring Ben Stiller, Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr, Jack Black, Matthew McConaughey and Nick Nolte, was filmed almost entirely on Kauai. Released in Aug., 2008, it was the number one film in the country for two weeks. Because it is an ADULT comedy with a bunch of really rank dialogue, we will most likely roll scenes with the sound OFF!
This tour runs seven days a week!
More fun than a barrel of monkeys! (Anything has to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys, especially if you are in the barrel)
Hawaii For Dummies from Frommers said "(Hawaii Movie Tours) offers the finest guided sightseeing tour of Kauai, hands down. It's comprehensive, in-depth, and--most importantly--just plain fun."" They also said "The tour-guide-led sing-a-longs of movie and TV themes are a tad corny, but trust me--you'll get into the spirit. This is a terrific tour, and well worth the money!"
